"Acupuncture Treatment"

Your acupuncture session begins with a consultation where the practitioner will ask about your medical history, symptoms, and overall health. They may also examine your tongue, pulse, and other physical indicators to tailor the treatment to your needs.

During the session, you’ll lie comfortably on a treatment table as fine, sterile needles are gently inserted into specific points on your body to stimulate energy flow and promote healing. You might feel a slight pinch or tingling, but the process is generally painless. The needles remain in place for 20-45 minutes, allowing you to relax and rejuvenate.

Your treatment may also include additional therapies such as cupping, tuina (Chinese medical massage), and moxibustion (the warming of specific points with moxa, a dried herb) to enhance the healing process.

The session concludes with the removal of the needles and a brief discussion about post-treatment care and any recommendations for follow-up sessions.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing that dates back over one hundred years. The practitioner uses gentle hand positions down the patient’s body, helping to balance the flow of energy and encourage the patient’s own self healing.
Some potential benefits of Reiki:
• Promotes relaxation
• Reduces depression and anxiety
• Aids in better sleep
• Encourages a meditative state
• Helps to relieve pain and stress
• Promotes natural self-healing
What to expect from your Reiki treatment:
You will lie face-up on the massage table for the entire treatment, covered by a blanket. You can either be fully clothed or undress to your comfort level. The reiki practitioner will gently place their hands, palm side down, on or just above your body in specific energy locations. Starting from the head and moving down the body towards the feet, a series of 12-15 different hand positions will be used. There is no massage, pressure, or manipulation involved.

Jess began her wellness journey while studying environmental science and geography at the University of Victoria. She realized that much like the natural world we live in; our body systems are inextricably linked. This led her to study at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, where she graduated in August of 2021. Jess seeks to holistically integrate these systems in her approach to massage therapy. By considering mental, physical and spiritual health in her treatments, she hopes to promote mind-body integration in those with injuries, chronic pain and stress. Jess builds her treatments on a foundation of relaxation and incorporates therapeutic techniques to optimize her clients’ recovery. Outside of the clinic, Jess likes to spend time in nature (especially surfing or skiing), snuggled up with a good book, making art, connecting with friends and cooking.

Clara was drawn to acupuncture because of the holistic foundations and natural approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She came to realize, through her own health journey and life experiences, that there is a deep interconnectivity within the body, and she believes in the body’s intuitive ability to heal itself.

Learning that acupuncture also recognizes these principles sparked an immediate curiosity, enthusiasm, and passion for the medicine.

In addition to general practice, Clara’s professional interests include facial rejuvenation acupuncture and microneedling, mental and emotional health including stress, chronic fatigue and burnout, and chronic and acute pain. In her treatments, Clara aims to help clients reach their ideal health goals by listening and understanding their concerns, encouraging and facilitating necessary changes both through acupuncture treatments and the implementation of achievable lifestyle changes. She includes client education in most sessions as well, to enhance treatment efficacy.

Clara is trained to provide cupping, Gua Sha, electro-stimulation acupuncture and moxibustion therapies.

Marcel is a Registered Massage Therapist and an Athletic Therapist giving him a unique approach to healthcare; his approach to wellness is movement based combining traditional therapy with strength training strategies. As a massage therapist his approach is a myofascial release base combined with postural alignment strategies including joint mobilization, muscle energy and tissue release techniques.

As an Athletic Therapist Marcel incorporates applied neurology as part of his treatment protocol. Applied neurology involves techniques that calm the brain which quite often is the main limiting factor in returning to optimal health.

Whether you are looking for treatment for an acute sport injury, rehab from a surgical procedure, recovery from a hard workout or just a relaxation massage, Marcel has you covered. The end goal is always to help clients become more robust and to continue to live a healthy active life. While Marcel has worked his entire career with elite athletes at World championships and Olympic games his motto has always been “you don’t have to be a world class athlete to receive world class treatment!”

All humans have the capacity for wellness, healing, and growth, despite the adversities we face. As a former national team athlete and current RCC, I have a unique understanding of the psychological pressures that coincide with sport-participation and managing difficult emotions. I also enjoy working with a diverse range of clients (14+) and couples to address a variety of concerns. These areas may include, but are not limited to, challenges with performance and social anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, relational conflict, grief/loss, and disordered eating/RED-S.

My skillset helps clients rediscover their pre-existing strengths in order to create new or more useful ways of coping with the distress they may be experiencing. Often, this includes exploring the root of your discomfort in order to consider its influence on your current state of being, and the direction/pace of where you want to go.

Drawing on client centered, collaborative, & strength-based approaches, I bring a refreshing mix of patience, compassion, curiosity, and humour to each individually tailored session. My goal is to facilitate a space that feels safe enough to engage in difficult conversations, yet familiar enough to genuinely understood, accepted, and capable of creating meaningful change.

Dr Jaritt Ptolemy has been in clinical practice for over 15 years as a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) for over 17 years. Prior to that, he received an Honours Kinesiology degree from McMaster University. Dr. Jaritt has also received a certification as a Medical Acupuncture provider from McMaster University in 2009. Other note-worth certifications are Neurodynamic Solutions (NDS); Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) through the Prague School of Rehabilitation; Specific Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA); Active Release Technique (ART); Advanced Instructor through the Oxygen Advantage; Blood Flow Restriction (BFR).

Dr. Jaritt’s approach is to optimize the recovery of each patient. This starts with a thorough assessment in order to achieve an accurate diagnosis, followed by a treatment plan based on patient needs. Dr. Jaritt’s extensive skillset allows for the most appropriate intervention for each patient. He believes patient education is imperative and treatment should be a collaborative effort between patient and practitioner in order to maximize recovery. The most effective treatment plans are when both practitioner and patient work with the bodies needs, which often includes patient homework and behavioral modifications, in addition to treatment.

Dr. Jaritt strongly believes that the body wants to find equilibrium in a healthy and pain-free state. Treatment and rehabilitation is often over-complicated and recovery lengthened because basic core tenants of human movement are overlooked. In Dr. Jaritt’s experience, most people have dysfunctional breathing patterns, and just by restoring basic breathing patterns patients often experience significant improvement in symptoms and recovery. For example, functional breathing is imperative for functional movement and signals to the nervous system whether the body is receptive to recovery. Dr. Jaritt is always looking for the low-hanging fruits that will have the greatest impact on patient recovery.

Dr. Jaritt has always blurred the lines between treatment, rehabilitation exercise and training. Some patients may require a more passive approach to treatment - such as soft tissue treatment of muscles and fascia, joint mobilization and or spinal manipulation. Other patients may require a more active approach concentrating more on restoring functional movement quality and range of motion progressing to functional capacity training with loads. Dr. Jaritt primarily works with an active general population, and has also worked as a therapist to two national level teams.

Hello everyone, my name is David Santana. I came to the path of medicine, as many do, through the search for my own healing that would allow me to recover from an arm injury and enable me to continue my career as a professional guitarist. Music has always been my passion and devotion, having studied a bachelor in music and having played guitar around the world on cruise ships. Towards the end of my studies in Chinese medicine, and to my amazement, my arms began to feel strong enough for me to play professionally again. More importantly, however, through the whole healing process, I developed much more compassion and care for the suffering that we all experience from time to time, be it psychological, physical, or spiritual. It’s my privilege and profound intention to help to ease the pain, and facilitate the healing of those who connect with me in this path. My interests are very wide; mental/emotional/spiritual disorders, musculoskeletal, digestive disorders, gynecology, just to name the most common conditions I see at my clinic. I look forward to meeting you and being of service to your growth and health.

One of the main reasons why she is so dedicated to practicing massage therapy is because it gives her the ability to reduce a client’s daily stressors by creating a safe, relaxing treatment space and using a therapeutic touch to decrease pain and anxiety, increase body awareness, and promote restful sleep. Satomi uses a variety of treatment techniques including general Swedish, myofascial release, isolytic release, trigger point therapy, and passive range of motion and stretching. She is very compassionate, and listens attentively to the needs of her clients so that she can plan her treatments to achieve the greatest benefit for each individual.
